Ages 4-10. Author Mary James will read Ella: The Somewhat True Story of a Moroccan Dromedary as illustrator Sally Clark holds the original story boards. Participants will learn how a book is made and enjoy a collection of stuffed camels while learning about dromedaries. Sally Clark will teach children to draw a camel, and children have the option of hanging their completed artwork at the Chesapeake Children's Book Festival in Easton on June 16.

Mary James, the daughter of a Foreign Service officer, was raised in 9 countries, exposing her to a wide variety of cultures. She hopes her books will light a path to a better understanding of the world around us.

Sally Clark's passion is watercolors, and she also paints murals and whimsical images on furniture. She is a partner in The Artist Gallery in Chestertown. *Registration required.
