One Maryland One Book Discussion
Event box
Experience an engaging book discussion and centered around this year's One Maryland One Book pick, Kin: Rooted in Hope by Carole Boston Weatherford and art by Jeffrey Boston Weatherford.
Released in 2024, the book is a work of art, history, and personal genealogy – the authors’ search into their family tree led them to ancestors who were among the founders of Maryland. Through Carole’s poetry and Jeffery’s art, Maryland Humanities will stage programming for readers to explore histories of African Americans, of Maryland, and their own families.
Free copies of the book will be available at all branches while supplies last.
One Maryland One Book is a program of Maryland Humanities presented in partnership with Howard County Library System, and is sponsored by The Institute of Museum and Library Services via the Maryland State Library Agency.
