Ages 6-10 with an adult

Join us as we kick off a shared reading experience! We'll begin reading aloud a book at the library and then you can check out your own copy to continue reading as a family at home.

There are many benefits to reading aloud to older independent readers. Adults can read books that might be slightly above a child’s independent reading level, which exposes them to richer stories and ideas. Reading chapter books aloud to emerging readers can also take some of the pressure out of reading independently and encourages a love of reading.
