Event box
Author Posey Boicourt will introduce us to the tale of a family portrait painted by a great great great uncle whom she discovered had left Bruges for Paris in 1799 and soon began working in Napoleon's court as well as royal courts thereafter. The author's investigations and adventures are buoyed by substantial historical research and will take you to the back streets of Bruges, into back corners of Versailles, the Louvre and onward into another world where she assumes a new identity caught between two worlds and begins to write home as Blue Tulip. As Posey reads from her book and shows some of the many high-resolution photographs and reintroduces characters her uncle paints. Included also in the book are striking drawings, maps and historical notes in its margin. Blue Tulip will be available for signing and sale, cash or check, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Queen Anne's County Library.
